Dr. Sunny Slaughter is a nationally and internationally recognized law enforcement instructor, litigation consultant, and institutional advisor whose work centers on investigative integrity, human behavior, and organizational accountability in high-stakes environments.

She is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sunny Slaughter Consulting, LLC (SSC), a boutique advisory firm based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area with a global scope.

Professional Recognition

On May 3, 2025, Dr. Slaughter was awarded the Doctor of Humane Letters (DHL) by President Bobbie Knight and the Board of Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama, in recognition of her leadership, advocacy, and sustained contributions to justice, ethical governance, and human rights. This honor reflects decades of applied work advancing evidence-based practice, institutional integrity, and defensible decision-making across law enforcement, legal, and public safety systems.

Law Enforcement Training & Executive Leadership

Dr. Slaughter has spent decades designing and delivering training and leadership advisory services for local, state, federal, and international agencies, with a focus on executive-level decision-making and organizational accountability.

Dr. Slaughter has served as an instructor, consultant, and training coordinator for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (DHS/FLETC) and has contributed to initiatives aligned with the Blue Campaign. 

Her work spans municipal, county, state, and federal agencies, multidisciplinary task forces, policy frameworks, and public-health-informed initiatives in collaboration with federal partners, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
